Since my domain name, hartaweb.co.cc will expire soon in October, so I plan to test it on a Google ads program which is AdSense for domain.

How to use co.cc domain for AdSense for domain program?

Firstly, go to a Google AdSense account and click on the AdSense Setup. Then select AdSense for Domains and enter the name of your domain name.

That is the easiest part, the most difficult is to change the CNAME and A name in the zone record of you co.cc account. So, log into your co.cc account. You can see the format for setting the zone record in Google support page.

At co.cc, set Zone Record for the domain you want. Enter the five values in the picture. One value for CName type and four values for an A type.

That’s it, then wait Google to approve your co.cc domain and after that, your domain will start showing ads just like domain parking. Only difference is you can get 100 percent of your commission from domain parking without the involvement of middlemen.

Once you start blogging, you will have increase in traffics and backlinks. Thus will increase your pagerank and Alexa rank. You will see that you have commited the biggest mistake once you want to move from free blog hosting such as blogspot and wordpress.com to paid hosting. This is because you can not move your page rank and backlinks of the blogspot or wordpress.com subdomain.

Co.cc works like real domain, not just redirection

Instead of blogspot or wordpress.com subdomain, you should try to use co.cc free domain name. Most of free domain name out there just a useless redirection but co.cc is totally different. You can choose either to do redirection or to propagate the DNS to your registrar and make it as your add on domain.

Using co.cc with blogspot or wordpress.com

For your information, you can also use co.cc subdomain with your blogspot and wordpress.com account. You just need to propagate the DNS (domain name server) to the appropriate free blog hosting service that you are using.

By using co.cc, you don’t need to worry to move to paid hosting since all of the information such as pageranks and backlinks will not be lost. You just need to propagate the domain name to new server.

Only two domain names per account

This is the biggest drawback of co.cc. You can only have 2 co.cc subdomains per account. If you want to have more, you need to donate at least USD10 or more to them. Then you will get to choose another 100 domain.

Oh, you can also register for 50 accounts if you do not want to lose USD10. Of course I am not stupid enough to do so. It is better to donate than wasting my time.
